When painting with the Model Color paints, I find it advantageous to apply a primer as it doesn't adhere that well to bare styrene. A good quality #2 or #3 pointed brush can produce fine details while holding enough paint for larger areas. The paint is far too thick for hand painting right out of the bottle. Different sizes at the best valule! I have found that it is pretty much vallejo thinner 2 parts to 1 part model color. The true beauty of the paint is that it is richly dense with pigments. With the thinned paint, dont expect to cover in one pass and dont skip thinning thinking you can cheat and cover in one pass, you will leave clumps and brush marks. various ppl love Vallejo for brush painting and feel its superior to Tamiya Acrylic thoughts ?
