Get kids mittens that have a side zipper. Both Jen and I have used this feature in the past with no issues, so hopefully this is a one-off situation. Basically, the base of the snowboard is slightly convex which lifts the edges off the snow just a tiny bit. Burton fleece holds up extremely well season after season. [watch with sound!].
My daughter wore the 3Ts when she was 3 and 4, and now at age 5 she is wearing the 4Ts. My 11-month-old fits into the 7c with doubled up socks. One note on the Room-To-Grow system: Team Member Jen let out the sleeves on her suit this year and it was sewn so tightly that it left big holes that will need to be patched. The suit comes in a Gore-Tex version at a higher price-point, but I have never wished I had the Gore-Tex version. If you are going to use the gear season long and hand it down to more than one child, its generally more cost effective to own it. The helmets are extremely lightweight, and they fit like a glove with the Anon Tracker Goggles. Were appreciative of the out-of-the-box thinking by Soul because there is nothing more authentically innovative than a parent looking to better the experience for their children, and this board was born from a rad-dads interest in fixing the frustrations and available product shortcomings he witnessed while teaching his own son. Rather than a separate pair of goggles sliding over the helmet, the goggles are integrated right into the helmet so there is a seamless fit and no chance of them falling off and getting lost. Goose down is more expensive, will lose its warmth when wet, but is significantly more packable and warm when dry.
