Tech A pair of rear horizontally mounted shocks was part of what Ford called the "Quadra-Shock rear suspension system". For the record, wheel hop destroys the back end of the car. Based on reading and comments and forum searches it sounds like coil overs are at a minimum if staying with the 4 link and those have some clearance issues with quad shocks, but I suppose that's half the fun of building a car, solving these issues. So the question now is, since I don't have a specific donor car, does anyone know what the part number is for the mount and where I can find it. But youre saying that i can just completely get rid of them without anything else and it will be fine, it just wont hook as good as it would with a kit. OP, you should have searched first. I've been able to find the quad shocks on rockauto easy enough. It works for some, and it doesn't work for others. So, I finally decided to look into figuring out why my rear suspension is so stiff.
